Jacobs Vehicle Systems has upgraded the company’s engine brake on model-year 2021 PACCAR MX-11 heavy-duty diesel engines. The electronically controlled engine brake now includes a new high-flow solenoid to facilitate faster, smoother gear shifting, resulting in simplified and smoother vehicle operation, as well as fuel consumption improvements.
Jacobs Vehicle Systems® has been appointed by China’s Weichai Power Co. to supply engine brake components for two new diesel engines for heavy-duty trucks. Weichai’s 13-liter WP13H and 15-liter WP15H engines, which recently went into production at the company’s plant in Weifang, central Shandong province, both feature Jacobs’ Compression Release Brake.

The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, has ordered 109 new LF 20-KatS fire-fighting vehicles on MAN TGM 18.340 chassis with Allison 3000 Series™ fully automatic transmissions. A total of 38 vehicles have already been delivered to local fire departments, with another 30 scheduled for delivery by September 2021 and the rest to quickly follow. The Institut der Feuerwehr Nordrhein-Westfalen (IdF – fire brigade institute of North Rhine-Westphalia) in Münster had opted for this vehicle configuration to maximize driver control, comfort and economy.
