Weichai specifies Jacobs' compression release brake for new truck engines

Jacobs Vehicle Systems® has been appointed by China’s Weichai Power Co. to supply engine brake components for two new diesel engines for heavy-duty trucks. Weichai’s 13-liter WP13H and 15-liter WP15H engines, which recently went into production at the company’s plant in Weifang, central Shandong province, both feature Jacobs’ Compression Release Brake.

Civil Protection: Federal State Opts for MAN TGM with Allison Fully Automatic Transmission

The federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, has ordered 109 new LF 20-KatS fire-fighting vehicles on MAN TGM 18.340 chassis with Allison 3000 Series™ fully automatic transmissions. A total of 38 vehicles have already been delivered to local fire departments, with another 30 scheduled for delivery by September 2021 and the rest to quickly follow. The Institut der Feuerwehr Nordrhein-Westfalen (IdF – fire brigade institute of North Rhine-Westphalia) in Münster had opted for this vehicle configuration to maximize driver control, comfort and economy.

Jacobs Vehicle Systems’ HPD engine brake specified by Chinese truck maker

Jacobs Vehicle Systems’ High Power Density® (HPD ®) engine brake has gone into production with a Chinese truck manufacturer. This is the first OEM application of HPD, launched in 2016, to be announced. The new Sinotruk Yellow River tractor unit, designed and manufactured by China National Heavy Duty Truck company (CNHTC), integrates Jacobs’ HPD technology in its 11- and 13-liter engines.

DGS Mainz, the main authorized dealer for Allison Transmission in Germany, celebrates its 40th anniversary. From Allison 9000 Series™ automatic transmissions for dump trucks in Siberia, 3000 Series™ transmissions for municipal vehicles in Frankfurt, reversing transmissions for double-head buses on Mont Saint-Michel, 4500 series transmissions for AT cranes in the Black Forest or hybrid systems for city buses in Bochum - there is no Allison product and hardly a transmission application in which the company has not been involved. Since its foundation in 1980, DGS has evolved from a two-man operation to an internationally renowned provider of solutions for drive train-related issues. The planned large celebration of the 40th anniversary of the company had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the occasion was nevertheless properly marked with a small ceremony.

Jacobs Vehicle Systems: European production of engine brakes right on target

In November 2019 Jacobs Vehicle Systems announced the delivery of its first engine brake from its newly opened plant in Brno, Czech Republic. Despite challenging circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plant is on schedule and has since delivered over 50,000 engine brakes to a European customer. As jolt-free as a fully electric truck; as economical as a diesel

Starting in mid-August 2020, three new hybrid refuse vehicles are joining the refuse collection fleet of the Swiss city of Thun. The vehicles are powered by Euro 6d diesel engines with Allison fully automatic transmissions, but the refuse collection body is working fully electric. Heated handholds for the loading crew at the rear, in addition to a drawer to dry wet gloves, show what else the city is able to provide its employees to increase comfort and efficiency.

U.S. Army in Germany chooses fire trucks with Allison transmissions
